Apartheid Museum.
http://www.apartheidmuseum.org/

This was amazing. It's a museum that goes through the years of the Apartheid in South Africa from 1948 – till the election of 1994. Amazing. A must do in South Africa. Going through it and looking at the different writings/video's/pictures. It was a lot to take in. When you first get there you get a card and are labeled either White or Non-white and that is how you enter the museum. You then go through the different stages of what happened during the era. Looking at everything really put me in a place that I am unable to put down in words. At the end they had this video of people being asked what word do you think of when you hear the letter ??.

So what do you think about when you hear the letter P?

Top of Africa
Top of Africa is the highest building in South Africa. After going to the Museum on Wednesday we went for a bite to eat and then up to the Top of Africa. 50 stories high and we were there at Sunset it was beautiful. I have pictures. I am not taking as many pictures as I thought I would due to fear of getting camera stolen. Though must get over fear and just start taking pictures!!! After this we went to bar called Cool Runnings!!! It was very interesting.

Catz PJ's

OK so whats with the title right!!! Well we out on Tuesday for a goodbye supper there and can I just say that I love the name. It's not the Catz's PJ's but rather the Cats Pajama's. I think If I am going to open a restaurant it is going to have a name like The Dolphin's Workout Suit.

Jet Leg vs. Jennifer Sad to report Jet Leg Wins

I hear some people deal very well with Jet leg. I apparently do not. So some tips for you if you feel you may have trouble. Even if you can drink the water for at least the first buy bottled. You body will thank you in the end. And it ok to bring all that outrageous over the counter medicine. Sometimes you use you. Sometimes a lot. Though best to know it does get better.

Going to Botswana – A Change in the Weekend Plans.

Well Orginally I was suppose to join a group of fabulous people to Lesotho for the weekend. A trip which I hear was amazing. So if there is another chance I am going. But when I woke one on Thursday there was no way that I would have been able to handle a trip like that. A little upset right now but there was nothing I could have done. Though on the very plus side I went to Botswana to visit yet another Canadian. Yes soon we will take over just give it time. So on Canada day I got on bus by myself and went across the border. Patty (The Canadian) Neo (From Tanzania) and Ampo ( I believe from Botswana) all picked me up and we went to the party. Still sick and un able to drink though saw that people there know how to party!

In Botswana.

On the Saturday we just hung out which was great as I was still recovering and finally able to eat something.

During the After Noon we walked around and I saw a bit of Gaberone. Well so I thought I saw a bit but apparently I saw almost all of it. It is not that small and only has about 200 000 people. We went to a place called River Walk with was like a outdoor/indoor shopping mall. And then I took my very first Mini Bus Taxi and we went over the Main mall. Which was mostly closed but very busy on the weekdays.

A mini bus taxi is something interesting over here. As it is about 14 passenger Van who travels around the city picking people up and droping them off. Though they try to fit as many people as possible. Its a little crazy.

We hung out and I did Cooking with Patty at night and whatever we made I am going to make when I get home. I found the people in Botswana really relaxed and so friendly. Though I felt I was looked at slightly more there then I am here in South Africa. Just not as many white people there. And did you know that if you go to University in Botswana you get it paid for and Allowance. I know it crazy. Though at the end of the month is when they get it. So I hear the parties then are the best. It was great to see another familiar face. But alos the weekend had to come to an end. So Sunday morning bright and early I got up and took the bus back.

Cell Phones and South Africa

I believe everyone and there dog has a Cell phone hear. And they are nice!!!

Learning A Lot

I am learning great things here. Not only about this great Country I am in but myself as well. Things I knew about myself at home but never really acknowledged I am learning to acknowledge them now. Like Jen you have to be more Assertive.

One More Thing

The few people who stayed in Jo'burg went to the LiveAid concert and the Saw Nelson Mandela. I was soooo mad I missed that. But it wasn't planned so I could not have known and it was a last minute decision to go. It would have been amazing!!!!

This week was laid back but after a A Dog Peeing on my Beg/ Getting Sick. Loosing my Sleeping Bag/ Ripping a shirt I have decided things can only go up right. Right!!

Alright I am going to sign off now. This week they are having an LCP Meeting (Presidents Meeting) in the House and we are supposed to help out with that. I believe it starts Wednesday and then we are heading back to Pretoria.

Oh and if you want to reply to this email. (I know you all do) Could you please change the subject even just add your name because gmail sorts it all together and it gets kind of annoying.

Love,

Jennifer
